Refractory development in the Nordics
We are very pleased to announce that we are again working in close cooperation with BetKer on the 2025 Refractory Highlights Conference on May 13th and 14th.
We have been gaining excellent momentum over the years and hope to continue this year, but this only happens with your attendance! Come and be part of refractory development specific to the needs of Nordic Steel plants.
Day one has presentations from Almatis, BetKer, Oulo University, Ovako Imatra, Ovako Smedjebacken, SSAB Raahe and of course Krosaki Europe. This year we are also joined by one of our specialist from Japan, Shiohama Michiharu, to discuss the next generation MgO-C for EAF plants. There are always excellent interactions in the room, with an open environment to discuss the steel industry and technical matter. These discussions continue into the evening with a nice meal in the evening together.
This all takes place in the Grand Hotel Elektra located in central Ludvika, a town in the mining region of Dalarna and Bergslagen, is home to the world's largest underground iron ore mine, and is known for its rich industrial history and natural beauty, including extensive forests, mountains, valleys, and over 360 lakes.
Day two is a plant visit to Ovako Smedjebacken steel plant. A very interesting plant in its own right.
